Welcoming visit by the University of Oxford – technology transfer office (Oxentia) and Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) is one of the initiatives taken by UMCIC to exchange thoughts, to expose and highlight to the role of UMCIC as an organization. Generally, the Key Performance Index (KPI) for UMCIC is set by MyRA and it is part of UMCIC goals and benchmarks to be achieved on yearly basis. This visit has involved consultants and research analysts as the participants. Some of the officers from UM also attended to get exposure and increase their understanding of UMCIC functions and processes. The total participants that have attended this program are 17 which includes four of them were from Oxentia and Might. Dr. Tim Hart and Ms. Ya-Hsin led the visit as a representative from Oxentia. While Might was represented by Mr. Ahmad Razif Mohamad and Ms. Kuek Yen Sim, the representative from the British High Commission.
The program was comprised of introductory presentation of UM and UMCIC followed by a roundtable discussion and brainstorming including a presentation on new UMCIC structure and organizational chart.
This program also emphasizes on the networking establishment, which also includes a visit to UM, start-up companies in UM incubator (UMXcelarate).
