Problem Statement

Price point barrier for LED manufacturers to further reduce LED light prices.


Two parts are the biggest costs, the LED chip, and the heat sink component. The heat sink component dissipates the heat which the LED chip creates. Hence the quality and price of the LED lights depend on the LED chips and the heat it dissipates.
 

It is hard for consumers to change to LED lights because the normal bulb is a cheaper alternative. There seems to be a price point barrier. This cost barrier due to components of the LED lights. The challenge for LED manufacturers to reduce LED light prices further due to the technology as it is.




Solution Statement

UM LED chip gives more brightness


UM LED chip has more luminance and dissipates less heat by 50% in comparison to the normal LED chip. UM LED chip gives more luminance than a typical LED chip. This would mean a LED light system will need a 50% less normal LED chip to have the same luminance. This is a cost reduction to build a typical LED light.
 

Moreover, with fewer LED chips, this would mean possible less need for the heat sink component for the LED light. This is another cost reduction to build a typical LED light.
