1. Technology Overview

An object of the present invention is to provide a method of altering metabolite levels in Boesenbergia rotunda by RNAi-mediated silencing of the cinnamate-4- hydroxylase, C4H1 gene. The method according to the present invention helps to enhance the production of useful metabolites in Boesenbergia rotunda. The useful metabolites are referred to the plant metabolites selected from the group of organic chemical compounds consisting of amino acids, organic acids, flavonoids and the like. A further object, features and advantages of the present invention will be readily apparent from the following description.
