1. Technology Overview
An apparatus for performing non-synchronous impact on structure under operation is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an accelerometer on the structure to capture cyclic load of structure and a tachometer on the structure to capture revolution pulse of the structure. An impact controller determines time interval of phase difference between revolution pulse and first cyclic load crest. The impact controller provides time interval of load cycles from the first cyclic load crest to a second cyclic load crest, and provides time interval of desired impact from the second cyclic load crest to desired phase impact. The impact controller determines impact time by adding the time Interval of phase difference, the time interval of load cycles and the time interval of desired impact. Hence, impact controller can provide impact on the crest or trough or at any phase position of the acceleration sine waveform on structure under operation by knowing phase angle information of responses from cyclic load.
