Malaysia Life Science Accelerator program (MyLiSA)

Introduction

Malaysia Life Science Accelerator program (MyLiSA), is a newly established unit under UM Innovation Sdn Bhd located in UMXcelerate, University Incubator and Innovation Complex University Malaya. In line with University of Malaya’s vision, MyLiSA aims to serve as a one-stop accelerator platform of choice in translating UM life science proprietary technologies into validated marketable products, processes and services. The outcome of this accelerated development will then be translated commercially to the market via various routes including but not limited to technology licensing, start-up or spin-offs companies especially via the UMCIC Technopreneur Program and also via UMI business and service offers.

The main components of MyLiSA consisted of UM In-Vitro Diagnostic Product Development Space (UM-IVDS) and Shared Laboratory Spaces (SLS) which designed to provide a conducive environment for product development and conducting researches. Apart of providing facilities and equipment, MyLiSA will also supply funding and mentorship for validation and prototyping work. Not limit to that, MyLiSA will provide participants the means to develop entrepreneurial skills, obtain market knowledge and also an access to wide range of networks, venture capitalists and industrial partners.

MyLiSA facility was built in conformance to the international standards, where the unit aims to attain ISO 13485 and ISO 17025 accreditation certification. To achieve this goal, MyLiSA has been equipped with the state of art equipment as well as has in its organization, experiences, well trained and dedicated personnel who will strive to provide an excellent collaboration with its partners.
